The Retirement Engineer:
From General Motors to
Financial Advisor in Ft. Myers
After graduating top in his engineering class from the University of Western Ontario, James went on to become a high level director at General Motors. Among his many accomplishments, he was named “GM’s Engineer Of The Year” for the launch of the award winning Chevy Trailblazer and holds the patents needed to engineer the popular Chevy Avalanche. With a minor in economics and finance James handled multi-million dollar budgets and was instrumental in running many successful, cost effective programs.
As the economic tides changed James saw an opportunity to follow his dreams, leave the automotive industry, and re-locate to Southwest Florida where he has been actively involved as a retirement planner and financial advisor in Ft. Myers. His passion for helping retirees and those a few years away from retirement reach their financial goals was the vision behind founding Waterstone Financial. His innovative, intellectual and intuitive approach has made him a top financial advisor in Ft. Myers and in the industry.
Today, the Retirement Engineer is on a mission to change the face of the financial services industry. As a financial advisor in Ft. Myers, James understands generally, there is a miscommunication between financial advisors and clients, which leads to clients not understanding what the financial advisor plans to do with their hard-earned money and worst of all not taking action. As a result, advisors watch the client walk out the door never to return.
Having been an engineer, James knew there had to be a better way to bring the client in to the conversation and allow the client to help the financial advisor build a comprehensive plan and then visually show the client exactly what the outcome of the plan would bring. The Retirement Engineer got to work and after many pain-staking hours finally created the SIPS Retirement Planning Software. The software allows the financial advisor to graphically show the client exactly what their current financial situation looked like and then use elements of: tax planning, inflation, pensions, IRAs, company sponsored plans and insurance to create multiple scenarios the client can see and understand. Together, the financial advisor and the client could make the best decision for their retirement plan.
Since its launch in September 2010, the system has gone through a number of upgrades and now includes planning for not just retirement income, but all aspects of estate planning, tax planning, and investment planning. The SIPS Retirement Planning Systemhas since replaced other planning software in the offices of financial advisors and tax advisors across the country. It continues to get rave reviews and is getting better every year. This will be the industry standard in Retirement Planning Software.
James is proud to be a financial advisor in Ft. Myers
